Wisconsin Resources

The People First Wisconsin created a series of one-pagers speaking out in support of integrated employment.

The Wisconsin Association for People Supporting EmploymentFirst (WI APSE) has been a leading advocate employment for people with disabilities since 1996. Wisconsin APSE is a chapter of National APSE. Membership is open to anyone who wants to be a part of a grassroots network committed to ensuring that integrated employment continues to grow and improve.

InControl Wisconsin and WI BPDD have developed a series of employment planning modules for people with disabilities and those who support them.  This free, on-line series was designed to help people think about their integrated employment options, understand employment supports, and create a plan to achieve their integrated employment goals.

National Resources

National APSE (Association of People Supporting EmploymentFirst) is the only national organization with an exclusive focus on integrated employment and career advancement opportunities for individuals with disabilities. APSE has chapters in 35 states and the District of Columbia.  APSE’s HR Connect offers consultation services to help businesses reach out to and partner with one of the strongest labor and customer pools in the country:  the disability community. APSE supports the only annual national conference focused solely on the advancement of integrated employment.

The State Employment Leadership Network has put together a comprehensive list of Employment First activities, resources, and perspectives throughout the United States.

Real People, Real Jobs uses videos and written stories to highlight the employment successes of people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) who are working in paid jobs in their communities.
